Nice to meet you. I work in video games. I am short, silly and talk a lot.

I have degrees both in Fine Art (UWIC, Cardiff) and Game Art Design (DeMontfort University, Leicester). Back in 2008 I started working at Outso / Lockwood Publishing where I am now Art Manager.

Outso is a Nottingham based games development studio primarily developing for Playstation®Home. I am involved in art management, business development and project management as well as design and enjoy that diversity in my role and the opportunity to work with a team of such creative and innovative people in a super-friendly atmosphere.

Home titles I have worked on include Sodium One and the upcoming Sodium Two: Project Velocity and Lockwood Publishing’s virtual items.

I have been working with the Home platform since before the launch of the beta version in 2008 and since then Outso have developed some of the most significant Home experiences for both Sony Europe and Sony America. It is exciting to be involved in such a unique platform for a console with the ability to quickly turn around and realise game ideas and apply new console publishing business models.

You can get hold of me by emailing me at work sophiac (at) outso.com or at home sophia (at) sophiaconey.com or on Twitter @sophiaconey.

I am attending SXSW in March for the panel on Indie Game Developers: What Platform Suits You? I’m looking forward to the adventure, meeting new people, learning new things and eating new food.

I have recently been at the Develop Conference in Brighton where we spoke to Playstation Lifestyle about Home and Playmetrix.

I am a regular at GameCity in Nottingham where I helped out for a few years doing immensely fun stuff like chaperoning Darth Vader around town, helping kids play Wii tennis on a massive screen in Market Square and counting zombies for a world record breaking zombie dance.

With other graduates I regularly return to my university to talk to current students about finding work in the games industry. While at university I went with tutors to local secondary schools to talk about games as a career and in higher education.

Other than working I play EVE Online and Call of Duty, sometimes at the same time. I go to the cinema, collect pirate Lego, plan for the zombpocalypse and watch period dramas on television. I live in Leicester but am originally from Grimsby. I am 27 and my life’s motto is: I talk, there I am.
